BRP Not arrived, can I return to the UK without it?

Post by SS_09 » Mon Aug 10, 2015 12:16 pm

I have applied for a tier 2 visa, and everything was going well, and I am now just waiting for my BRP. I didn't realise that my BRP would be sent separately from my passports and documents. However as I have to go renew my residency in Thailand I need to get on my flight on the 13th this week. I have tried emailing the BRP office but have had no response.
Is there any way I can contact the BRP office or speed things up?
Or worst case scenario, will I be able to enter the UK without my BRP? (I have a Japanese passport) And if I can will I still be able to get my BRP once I get back to the UK on the 24th?

I have read a few forums regarding this, but noone seems to have posted what had happened to them consequently and I'd like to know if anyones been in my position and if so, how did you resolve it?
Thank you

If applying from within the UK, your BRP should be sent within 10 days of the date of your decision letter.
Have you read the information on the gov.uk site?

Yes I've read that, but is there any services they provide for the case of emergencies? I really need to get on this flight and it would be a week since I got my confirmation tomorrow, but I just need it as soon as possible.
Does the BRP department provide for people like this?

Then another 4 days of the 10 days it can take (after the decision on your visa) to receive your BRP.

What would you have done about your flight if your visa decision you recived 6 days ago, hadn't been made by the 13th? I'm not sure that UKVI will count bad planning as an emergency

On that link, it says that those applying from outside get a 30 day visa to enter and collect their BRP and can reapply for that 30 day visa if they don't arrive in the UK within that time. There is nothing on there for those that don't want to wait the "within 10 days" after their visa decision, to receive their BRP.
