If you are a dual (or triple citizen) including being a British citizen by descent (by virtue of a British mother other than by descent) then simply apply for a British passport. (British citizens do not need a British visa to enter Britain).pipSTi wrote:*Please move if I put this in the wrong category*
To get straight to the point. Want to possibly spend a couple years (or more) in the UK. To make this easy to understand, I was adopted at birth and born here in the U.S. from an English mother (not married either, though it wouldn't matter because the birth father was Irish). She's a British citizen by birth, but my birth grandparents immigrated to the U.K. from Poland. Now that all of that is made clear, where does that leave me on what I would do if I were to want to move to the U.K. for a bit (in relation to a Visa or what have you).
I could do that even though I've lived here in the U.S. my entire life? I read about by virtue of a "British mother other than by descent". That almost seemed to easy.noajthan wrote: If you are a dual (or triple citizen) including being a British citizen by descent (by virtue of a British mother other than by descent) then simply apply for a British passport.
