SOC Code ILR (Tier 2 General Route)

Post by lizldn » Tue Aug 11, 2015 8:05 am

Hi everyone,

I've had a look on the forum and couldn't find a recent answer to this question so i hope someone can help me here.

My employer (the same for lat 5 years) says they don't have the SOC Code my last Tier 2 visa was offered on so I have no way of checking if the current SOC Code on my Reference letter is the same. There's no indication on the April 2015 SET O Form that this is an issue. I just wanted to check if anyone knew any different?

Thanks!

Hi...

The best way to get you SOC code is to raise a SAR request.

Tks

IMHO, if the SOC code you choose to mention in SET(O) is so different from the one on which you were actually sponsored 5 years ago that it require(d) a change of employment application, you may get in trouble!

So, as suggested make a subject access request.

Thanks a lot for the response guys. I didn't know about the SAR option at all. I've just finally been able to confirm it with the company's lawyers and it is exactly the same as it is now in my ILR application so feeling quite relieved.

Thanks again :)
