Biometric enrolment or acknowledgement letter first?

Hi all, I applied for BC two weeks ago and letter asking for biometric enrolment turned up today but I haven't received any acknowledgement letter yet, only an email.

Shouldn't the acknowledgement letter arrive first? Then the one with biometric request? Does anyone know what the normal procedure is?

I received an acknowledgement letter first, then a few days later my biometric letter.

That seems to be the order most receive their letters in. But if you read enough on these boards you'll get the idea there are no strong processes -- you got an email acknowledgement. I never did, nor did many others. Some folks seem to get both.

Then, of course, are the errors in biometric details. They omitted my middle name, even through I'd used NCS. I'm currently chasing, but they don't communicate i.e., acknowledge emails nor Royal Mail recorded letters.

If your details are correct I'd get to the Post Office and get your biometrics done !! You don't need an acknowledgement letter at all, it would seem. And at least then its all in their hands. Next milestone will be either the six month waiting threshold (when you're allowed to make a query and they'll answer) or a rejection letter.

Just out of curiosity, would the acknowledgement email and the acknowledgement letter have the same content?

personally don't know, I only received a letter. Some folks - like yourself - only get an email, but I do seem to recall others saying they've gotten both.

Maybe look in the various Naturalisation Timeline posts and PM some of the participants who did receive both?

Wondering if those who received these both can confirm if the contents are the same. I received an email confirmation and the biometrics request but no acknowledgement in writing has turned up yet. Should I be worried?

Hungolad, if you're biometric letter contains all correct details, do it. Wouldn't worry so much about acknowledgement!

Ok thanks I did go ahead and did the biometrics and guess what next week the letter turns up. happy days! Tahnsk for all the help and info.
