Yes, that is the reason. BRPs are for those "who are granted leave to enter the UK for more than 6 months". She has a visa that will only allow her remain in the UK for 1 month.mimi16 wrote:Hi Manci..She is going for tier2 dependent visa.. and her visa is valid for one month only as her husband is also returning from UK on next month. Is that the reason for not getting the BRP document from consolate?
Please reply.
Thanks,
Mimi

Can you please tell me what should be the next process? Where should we contact for this?
have you read the post I gave you the link for?
Would you please show where it says that a dependant of a PBS will be issued with a BRP even if their visa is for 6 months or less. I can't find it.sushdmehta wrote:Contact the ECO at the local deputy high commission and ask why the applicant has not been given details of the Post Office (in UK to collect the BRP) when the applicant has applied for and been granted leave as a PBS dependant.

The Station Agent. Did you miss this part where it seems her visa is in line with her husbands visa? The Station Agent wrote:Petaltop - all these people (who are staying longer than 6 months on work or dependent status) now only get a 1-month visa in the passport and then they collect their BRP

They won't. It is an EU law that PM Blair signed the UK up to in 2002(?) Most EU leaders signed their countries up to it as EU wants to keep track of which immigrants are in EU countries and also use it to stop illegals in the EU. UK is also using these BRPs to check who has to be billed for using the NHS: EUs and their families come under different NHS checking system. The Station Agent wrote:The sooner we get back to the old system the better.

That's how they did it for my partners one year work permit in Germany, single entry Schengen visit visa, trip to auslanderbehorde to exchange it for the WP proper (no cards then) within a month. The Station Agent wrote:Look - until very recently you used to get a visa in your passport in line with the CoS (let's say 3 years long). Now you get 1 month in your passport and your BRP replaces the visa for the rest of the time. Get it? Bugger all to do with Tony Blair - this is a new system. And it's crap.
