my partner is a german citizen and we both living together in the UK. he will be travelling to Ghana very soon to see my family for our marriage ceremony. i won't be present at the ceremony but my sister will stand on my behalf .i am a bit confuse and want to know if our marraige certificate will be recognise in the Uk if we submit our application? please help.

It may not be a case of whether the proxy marriage is legal or not, but whether the UKVI consider the relationship is genuine. Any application for an EU permit will come under a great deal of scrutiny. Do you have legal status in the UK at present?

The fact that you are here illegally will bring your relationship to the attention of the UK Border authorities. As you will have read in the attached link, the Home Office is clamping down on proxy marriages which are used to subvert the Immigration Rules. Also take note of the comment "The refusal rate for proxy marriages is now running at twice the rate for marriages of convenience."
Be prepared for an interview and a bumpy ride.
