Baby born in UK, travelling to India and back?

Post by saanj21 » Thu Aug 20, 2015 12:17 pm

Hi,

We have booked our tickets to travel to india in 10days(28th august) and haven't yet received her naturalisation letter. However it looks like we might get it by next week. My question is:

1. Can my daughter travel back to UK from india with the naturalization letter only?
2. If we dont get her naturalization letter, can she get a travel visa to travel back to UK?

I know she can travel to India using the Indian passport only but need to know the process to travel back to UK.

Can you kindly reply to the above query ASAP?

Thanks,
Sanjukta

Minors do not naturalise, adults do.

1. Perhaps, if you can convince the immigration officer at Indian port to let her pass immigration control and the Stupid staff to let her board the plane with an Indian passport (without a UK visa) and a document certifying her to be a British citizen.
2. The child will need to apply for entry clearance as a child of settled person / British citizen.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
