just 10 days before my app but you are a BC spouse so i guess end of april applicants still have at least a month to wait , congrats anyway

Congrats - same timeline as mine. I believe they will send you invitation letter confirming ceremony date.

There was only one thing interesting i got from those statistics

"Grant levels reduced in the second and third quarters of 2014 as UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) resources were used to assist HM Passport Office and increased in the fourth quarter of 2014"

This actually explains why our applications were delayed for so long. During March-June, home office directs most of their resources to the passport office to deal with passports for people travelling. Hence long delays in decision. This is why we are seeing so many approvals now, because they have finished with that.

As always we need to submit foi requests to get the real information with want like "How many grants were given for applications submitted in April up til June"

The stats suggest a lower than normal number of applications for Q2 2015 at 35,713. So it’s not a rush of applicants causing delays (except perhaps in March, but this will be balanced by lower numbers in April/May).

They say they have approved 17,077 applications for BC in Q2. It’s not clear what this means. At first glance it would look like they’ve approved half of the Apr/May/June applications already, but as we know only a few Aprils and no May/June applications have been approved. So it can’t mean that. It must be the number of decisions taken in Apr/May/June (of applications dating back earlier than that).

So basically the Home Office have been working at about half capacity for Q2 (in Q1 they approved 36,658) and this explains the sudden slowdown we saw in approvals.

I wish they’d publish the month by month breakdown themselves rather than having to be coaxed into doing it with FOIA. Now someone needs to submit a FOI request and we’ll know the real answers in about a month.

P.S. What may be more worrying is the fact that the rejection rate has soared to 15%!

yes it says 2014, but that pattern is going to repeat every year. i.e next year between March and June we will see the same trend of applications taking months to get approvals. They've effectively said during those months they will start directing traffic towards the passport office

Yes, I agree- there was probably zero progress on post-bio application in the second quarter. However, they did appear to have picked up pace on post bio applicants more recently, as evidenced by this table:

If I remember right you were asked for additional documents? Could I ask how long you had to return them from the day you got the letter? (I think they usually give you 3 weeks from date on the letter but when did you receive it?). Also what were you asked for and why?

I'm terrified of this happening when we're away or something (have awful luck with these things).And it will also be helpful for future people in the same situation

I had till 7th of Sept(3 weeks) to send document but i sent it on the day i got the letter. I misplaced my old passport, so needed to send original letter from employer and P60(mainly something to show continuous residence and to proof i haven't exceeded the number of days outside the UK) as NCS only took copies.
