Spouse visa - Financial requirement - Queries- help please

Post by AM_MA » Mon Sep 21, 2015 10:23 pm

Hi All,

I am going to apply for my Spouse visa very soon. We got married on August 2015 and my spouse is UK citizen. I have some queries regarding tax and Earnings.

We are going to apply under Category A and will submit Payslips and Bank statements for the last 6 months (April - September) 2015. The salary is 27000 pounds w.e.f Jan 2015. Before that the salary was 15000 pounds. The questions are as follows :

1. Do we have to submit P60 also along with Payslips and bank statements even though we are relying on April to Sept salary?

2. For Jan 2015 - March 2015 , the tax amount paid to HMRC was less than the earnings during that time (i.e. Employer paid tax based on 15000 salary whilst money was paid based on 27000 salary). However, the employer paid the remaining taxes sometime back. Will this create any issue if a portion of the tax has been paid at a later date by employer.

3. My husband was working 25 hours a week before January 2015 and he started working 40 hours a week since January 2015. For 25 hours a week, the salary was 15000 pounds and it increased to 27000 pounds when he started working 40 hours a week. Can this sudden increase in salary create any issue. He has a salary revision letter dated January 2015 in which it is also mentioned that the employee will work 40 hours a week. Do we need to submit any more document as a proof for this effect .

4. My spouse was working at a client location in India for 3 months and was being paid as usual in his UK salary . We have got a letter from employer stating that he was working at a client location in India. Do we need to get a letter from the client also ?

Would appreciate an early reply!

Thanks in advance

1. No but it helps

2. Shouldn't matter as long as gross pay per month is over £1550.

3. No issue. You will need a letter from employer confirming your current annual pay, national insurance number, length of employment, start date when you got current pay, type of employment (permanent or temporary), and full time or part time.

4. Would help, but if the money was going into UK bank account and the employer is in UK then you should be fine.

Hi, can someone please advise whether the spouse financial requirement of £ 18,600 suffice, where the sponser has a 19 year old son living with them, and who is in receipt of child benefit and tax credits due to being in their last few weeks of full time education. Any information will be much appreciated.

@Luckybird - The child benefit isn't counted towards requirement. As long as your pay is over £1550 gross per month you should be okay. You just can't count the income received from child benefit/work tax credit towards the financial requirement.

Thanks for your reply shakoorh.

Reason why we are reluctant to submit P60 is because it shows salary of 17000 as my husband started working 40 hrs in Jan 15.

Luckybird, can you create your own thread instead of piggy bank this one.

SENIORS PLEASE REPLY ON MY ORIGINAL POST, AS IT IS QUITE CONFUSING SITUATION.....

@AM_MA

Yeah it's not a requirement, so you could leave it out if you wanted. My pay was less last year also, but I am still including it as it confirms your tax office number, national insurance number etc. Hopefully someone else will reply to you to confirm.
