Hello,
I was made redundant on the 25th of july 2014. Left the country twice interim on the visa I had (I didn't know it would create any problems) I was let back in the country without any problems.
New employers didn't sponsor me because of the potential risks that might get me rejected. And left the UK on the 23rd of Feb now serving my cooling off period.
How will I know I have overstayed (didn't receive any official communications) and if there are any legal complications that would raise concerns when re-applying next year?
Thanks

You shouldn't have travelled back to uk on tier 2 as you were bo longer a tier 2 employee. Your circumstances were changed. It is just a common sense, it doesn't not matter if authorities let u In without any problem but legally you shoudnt have travelled on tier 2 visa when u were no longer being sponsored.
Now it all depends next year if ukba knows that your previous employment had ended on xyz date and still u went to UK.
But if they dont there wont be any problems. And if you went for few days you can make a case explaining them that you had to sort out your matters and take all your stuff and closebank aaccounts etv thats why you went.

Thank you for your time coming back to me.
It is common sense I agree now but I was oblivious to the fact at the time. I did go back to my country for a family matter and Europe to help a friend for 2 days. Just read on Her Majesty's Presecution Law that this is only an offence if they catch you at that exact time and does not count as a continuous offence. But it is vauge how this would affect my future applications.
I was interviewing at the time and came back for my final interview. And looked for jobs in the meantime.
And as I have never gotten a curtailment letter I did stay longer till the company who offered me a job wanted me to serve the cooling off period to avoid any complications. And I immediately left the country then. (23rd Feb 15)
I definitely won't go back to the UK until i serve the full year (won't try to get any visas I mean) and I am a high skilled worker will probably come for another investment banking position in July next year. I just need to make sure, find an immigration lawyer to somehow make this process as clean as possible even if it ends with me getting rejected.
Side note: new employer who didn't sponsor me did an SMS check and it turned out to be "inconclusive".
My aim here is to find out if I overstayed whilst waiting for a curtailment letter which never was supposed to arrive etc.
Have you ever come across any cases like this? Which officials should i speak to or can you suggest immigration lawyers to me?
Appreciate your time!

Read the above just now.
And at the time I trusted the fact that my leave wasn't curtailed and I had to travel and come back to try to secure a job (which I couldn't do and left ultimately)
I am confused as it is obvious. But i am trying to figure out if i stand a chance to get employment again next year.
My case sounds a bit desperate I know thanks to some of my wrongdoings. I hope though to find a way to make things right and get back to my life, my boyfriend in the UK.
Thank you!
