emails to HO regarding BC

Hi all,

I was wondering if contacting HO via email for a status update does any damage ?
like i know they tell you anything if its less than 6 months but some people emailed and HO replied saying their case was concluded, a decision had been made and to wait for a letter from them!!

does it do any harm or not?


Also, if you are refused for whatever reason, do they send the £80 to your bank account or by cheque? and how long after refusal? any ideas?
