correct time to apply extension ?

Hello Guys,

Please can someone help me for below so that I can speak to my Company HR and get everything sorted well before time

Tier 2 General Visa started 1st Oct 2013

COS Work dates:
01/Nov/2013
to
01/Nov/2016

Applied Visa on 01/Oct/13 via premium service . Visa granted
01/Oct/2013
to
15/Nov/2016

as per COS, my start date was 01/Nov/2013 but because visa issued 01/Oct/2013. Employer asked me to start work on 29/Oct/2013

now my question is I will be having my extension next year under same SOC code and company will issue me UCOS 01/Nov/2016 to 01/Nov/2019

I will be applying by Post next year so when is the best time to apply

Should I apply in Nov as I have visa until 15/Nov/2016 or should I apply any time in October because it will take 6 weeks for processing keeping in mind that previous & New COS start dates starts from 1st Nov

what makes me also confuse that how I will calculate my time for ILR in future (2018). would that be from 1/Oct/2013 as I got visa from that date or would that be according to COS start dates 01/Nov/2013

Please gurus can some one advise . I hope this post will help other people too

you have to apply for the visa before your current leave expires. when you apply is your choice
you are right about the dates that your employer needs to put in the next cos. He can put these dates and hence issue you this cos 3 months in advance. So practically, once the cos is issued on 1 aug, you can apply anytime after that till 15 nov.
you will be eligible to apply for ilr 28 days before 1 oct.
