HELP!!! Tier 2 General -- Interview Outcomes and timelines?

Post by admishra » Tue Oct 13, 2015 11:27 am

Hi Fellow members
Have a couple of questions regarding the Tier2 General process and would be grateful if some of the more experienced members could help resolve the quandry... Here are the details of our situation:-
1. I am a Tier2 ICT visa holder, currently working in the UK for last 4+ years (arrived in Feb 2011).
2. My wife and 2 kids are presently on Tier 2 Dependent visa (valid till feb 2016), Wife has been contracting through her own company for last 4 years, with various organizations in London.
3. My wife recently decided to switch to TIer 2 General; and therefore went through the process of getting a sponsor; going through the job interview and selection process; valid CoS issued; and then applying for the same from India (she had arrived in the UK after 10-Apr-11 and so couldn't apply from the UK)
4. She made her application on 29-Sep (submitted the docs the same day) and got a response today that a telephonic interview has been scheduled for her for 16-Oct.

Now, from previous posts, I can sense that the interview is held only in cases wherein the case worker has a suspicion about the legitimacy of the vacancy or the employer etc.. In her case its an A-rated sponsor, and she did go through the proper interview and selection process. My concerns/ questions are as follows:-
1. is a week a normal (95 percentile) timeframe for getting the passport post interview; or is it "generally" longer? and generally speaking, what is the sort of chances around one being sucked into the "extremely complex" case
2. if it takes longer; and she decides to withdraw her application -- would the existing dependent visa be still valid? MY assumption is that it would be; but would want to valdiate the same.

my two kids are here in the UK with me; and we offcourse can't go in a state of limbo for anymore than 1 more week and hence the question..
3. Does it make any sense in requesting the case worker to hasten the decision on this ground? or it is actually not going to impact the timelines anyways; and hence no point in discussing?

would really and truly appreciate guidance on this matter

regards

Also.. just to reiterate.. its not a face to face but a telephonic interview which she has been asked to attend.
the job that she applied for, was advertised on 27th July; and she got interviewed on 27th Aug (after applying for it on 24th Aug), so that ways the 30 period had passed when she was interviewed - but only just...would that raise an eyebrow and be a cause of suspicion that it is not a genuine vacancy??
