BRP Error

Post by linkinlolipop » Thu Oct 15, 2015 12:04 pm

Greetings

I am in need of serious help and i hope any of you could give me some advice. I apologise, but this is going to be a long one.

I applied for a Tier 2 general visa for three years or less at the Sheffield Premium centre last Tuesday (6th). Everything went smoothly on that day and I have my visa approved. On Friday (9th) I received my BRP and was pretty happy to have received it so early. But when i checked the details, the BRP was on valid until the 11th. So basically I was given a BRP that is for 5 days.

I contacted home office right away and even the advisor was shocked at the mistake and i was told to contact BRPError. Emailed them right away on the 9th with all my details and they did not reply until the 13th. The email states that the my record matches the permit given which is ridiculous! In the same email it was stated to contact the premium centre that you went to. However there is no specific contact number for sheffield premium centre given out. (not that i know of)

I contacted the Home office again regarding the matter and they said they would send my details over to the office in Croydon who would then get back to me. I got a call from Croydon few hours later and was told to report to admin.review.enquiries@homeoffice. Who i have just heard today and was told that I would need to apply for an administrative review for them to look at my case! (they could have told me that earlier)

Furthermore, my company who i would be working with gave me the number for the home office advisors for employers. The advisor was pretty nice and was patiently listening and trying to understand my situation although the line was only meant for employers. He as well stated that it most probably an error and the minimum length of stay was 6 months. No way it could be 5 days. He advise me to email complaints@homeoffice. Who I have not heard from yet.

Should I apply for the administrative review which i would have to pay 80 pounds? Has anyone come across the same problem? Would anyone be able to give me advice on who to contact to get more information and help on my situation? By the way, I have a tier 4 visa which is expiring in Nov 1st. Am I still able to stay in the country?

i personally think you should apply for AR and pay the fee.
Once the AR returns positive (as it should be), your fee will be refunded to you automatically.

Is it possible for them to overturn the first decision? how would it effect my visa if i apply for the administrative review?
