Maternity Cover / Promotion

Post by silverchloride » Fri Oct 23, 2015 9:00 am

I am currently on a Tier 2 and hoping to apply for ILR in September next year. There is a vacancy in our department which has been advertised externally (RMLT test ok), it is an 8 months maternity cover position within the same SoC code but different a job title / salary.

Can someone please advise what the situation in this case will be? Is it risky to change job at this stage, provided I get offered that position. I don't want to complicate my ILR application next year but at the same time want to look at career progression. Especially, since it is an 8 months role, and I will revert back to my old salary/role after that (around August time next year) a month before I am due to apply for ILR...

Any thoughts / advice will be very gratefully received...
