Tier 2 (General) extension (road offence)

Post by Aka2015 » Wed Jul 22, 2015 3:34 pm

Hi,

Sorry if that question has been posted before as i was not able to find.

In June 2013 for emergency I had to drive without license and insurance my friend's car (I have license from back home which is not valid in UK). On that day I have been stopped by road controlling patrols. After finding out that I dont have license and insurance, they told me that i will be charge a penalty. Because it was my friend's car they wanted to speak to him to confirm that I didnt steal it. I didnt have his number as he got new contract so for that reason they took me to custody until they get confirmation. after sometime they reached my friend and he confirmed that i am his friend and car wasnt stolen. Police has let me go but issued letter to go to Hendon Magistrates Court. On the day Court has issued that i am guilty and charged me around £300 and given 6 points.

I am currently on Tier 2 visa and in September 2015 i need to extend it, I have COS and still having same position no change.

I believe that I have to declare it on the application, and my question is, will I be refused because of that conviction? Or do I need to take any actions (like stating the condition and reason why I have driven, maybe presenting my local license to show that I felt the responsibility before driving)

I will appreciate if you help.

and let me know if you need anymore information on that.

Kind Regards.

Declare it on the form. Won't have any consequence on extension.
