What kind of 'public funded' student finance are you thinking of?
There are no student grants (gifts) for FE/HE available nowadays.

Do you mean that you have got Indefinite Leave to Remain or is your Leave to Remain still limited, but that you have been allowed access to public funds?

Are you on the UK Immigration route or are you now on the EEA route (i.e. have you married a non-British EEA citizen in the UK)?

I'm single mother with limited leave to remain but I have public funds .
I want to apply for a degree course at a university. I just want to know if I will be eligible for student finance England, or i have to wait until I get my indefinite leave to remain??

I am fairly certain that if your leave to remain is limited in any way, that you would be treated as if an overseas student, not a home student.

Here is a list of what public funds mean from an immigration point of view.

ILR is a separate status that brings other benefits with it, apart from public funds.
