Post by Misscrofty23 » Mon Oct 26, 2015 1:30 pm

Hi guys,

I have my Citizenship ceremony with my local council this week. How long after the completion of that will I get my British passport and what are those next steps ? Does anyone have any idea ?

Thanks,

You will have to apply for a British passport, which takes on average 6 weeks to process. (Longer during peak holiday periods or over the Christmas/New Year shut-down) It's worthwhile using the Post Office 'check & send' service. However, before the passport is issued you will have to attend an interview and if this goes well, the passport is generally issued within a week or so.
