HELP! ILR approved but children's visa expired

Post by universaltee » Tue Oct 27, 2015 5:25 am

Hi there.

My ILR (through the 10 years route) was approved 5th of December 2014. I have two children, both born in theUK now 7years and the other 5 years old but I could not add them as my dependant while applying for my ILR. I was initially on the student visa of which they were my dependants until August 2014 when I applied for my ILR.
I have just been able to raise the funds to apply for their naturalisation but am concerned that they will be refused (which is what a friend that use to work for the UK Visas and Immigration up until 2 months ago said) because they were subject to immigration control and their visas expired a while back.
The form MN1 also requires their biometric details, which I can't seem to avoid that part.
Please kindly advice me on what to do and possible what to expect if i go ahead and apply. I have an appointment with the NCS next week Monday.

Children born in the UK are entitled to be registered as British citizens (i.e. they can not be refused) when either one of their parents gets ILR. So, don't worry about this.

Why do you want to avoid this part?

Biometric enrolment is a mandatory requirement, and will need to be undertaken again even if biometric enrolment was done in previous immigration application(s).

Thank you secret.simon and sushdmehta for your replies. It's really good to feel relieved for now.
@secret.simon i was just stating my worries about the part of the MN1 form where I have to fill in their previous biometric details and I have to also include their biometric cards in the applications to be submitted.

But am glad I don't have to worry about all that.

Many thanks
