Can i get BRP ?

HI all,

I am working on Tier-2 and my visa(vignette) is valid till 2020. Can i get BRP ? If yes, what would be the procedure ? If no, then what is the reason ?

You already have a visa with the validity dates. You don't need a BRP. BRP are issued to those who extend their visa from within UK. Nowadays, UKVI has started issuing BRP for folks who are applying for entry visa as well. I don't think you can exchange your visa for a BRP. Any specific reason you are looking for a BRP?

Thank you moonlight to reply. I have to carry my passport as a proof of id within the U.K. I was wondering if i can have BRP as an alternate to my id that can work within the U.K. and i can leave my passport at home for most of the times. It is very difficult to get a new passport once you lost your original one. Other hard part is to transfer Tier-2 visa on new passport. In coming future when my passport will expire, therefore i would like to use BRP for my visa.

Is it possible to have a card/document alternative to my visa?

What are your thoughts about TOC? I don’t understand its purpose. Thank you in advance.
