visa extension requirements spouse visa

Hi All,

My wife came to uk on spouse visa on May 2006, her visa expires end of Feb 2008, so she will need an visa extension before applying for ILR.
My current situation is that due to major illness(3 major ops), I've been incapacitated from work since June 06 and I'm recieving Incapacity benefit. My wife is a housewife and not working. My question is what are the financial requirements for extension of spouse visa?Can 3rd party support be okay for extension?Can I show savings as I have no work income?

I am better now and have started to look for work with no success, I'm worried that if I don't get a job soon then my wife may be refused visa extension.
