Pakistani UNION council divorce from UK

Post by asad512 » Thu Oct 29, 2015 11:30 pm

Hi,
Wondering if knowledgeable members of this forum can help me with my situation:
I am a Pakistani national here on Tier 2 work permit. I have my wife on dependant visa. Unfortunately, our marriage has come to and end. I am about to apply for a divorce but wanted to make sure I do it the right way so that it doesn't become a problem if I re-marry and want to bring my new wife here.
Is it possible to instruct the Union council in Pakistan to issue divorce while I am here in UK or do I need to go to Pakistan to do this?
Other information that might be useful to answer my question is that my wife is also from Pakistan, she has already left UK. Our marriage was never registered here in UK.
Any help will be most appreciated.
