PR rights after moving between countries

Post by tebee » Fri Oct 30, 2015 7:53 am

If my non-EU partner has obtained PR by living with me in one EU country for over 5 years, but then as a family we decide to move to a different EU country, does that partner retain that right or do we have to start the clock again ?

I believe your partner will lose PR status after two years of absence.

If you are asking whether a partner would retain PR status gained in another EU state when they move (for instance) to the UK...then no they won't. The clock would be reset.

It was indeed the second question I was asking. Thanks

One more thing to think about.
