Can I travel to Republic of Ireland without Residence card

Post by wish_uk » Sun Nov 01, 2015 8:36 am

Hi everyone!

I am non Eu spouse of EEA citizen, I don't have Residence card for family member of Eu/EEA citizen. I applied but refused.
I have Italian Residence Permit(Humanitarian reason) until May 2017.+ MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE ISSUED IN HUNGARY
My wife has dual nationalities Romaina and Hungary.
Me and my wife want to travel to Ireland together.

my question is:

Can airline will let us board only on the basis of my Italian Residence permit and Marriage certificate, if my wife is traveling with me.

If I apply a short term visa C, will immigration will take into count my REFUSED APPLICATION in Hungary which was made by me to get RESIDENCE CARD FOR FAMILY MEMBER OF EU CITIZEN

I don't think italian residence permit would just allow you to travel Ireland but You can travel with your EU spouse if you have the residence card issued under article 10 and you need to bring your marriage cert with you.. Your previous refusal won't effect C visa unless you involved in a criminal activities :) I am wondering why did they refuse your residence card in Hungary?
Stay blessed

hi,
thanks for reply,
Reasons of my refusal were as following:
1- our period of relationship before marriage wasn't enough to prve our marriage to be a genuine
2- during interview we were asked 77 questions, out of which 4 were not matched

and they concluded our marriage as marriage of convinience

now appeal is in process.

i am scared if i apply a visit visa to enter ireland, may be immigration officer can look on my immigration history and again he will have a reason to reject my applicaiton , that i am seeking to enter Ireland only.
