Granted Further LEave to Remain in 2003 with No Expiry Date

Post by chentash16 » Wed Nov 11, 2015 1:53 pm

A friend of mine applied for further leave to remain in 2003 of which she was given granted her further leave to remain but the visa stamp she was given by HO had no expiry on it.

Does it mean that she has been in this country legally for just over 12 years now based on the based on the non expiry date on the stamp?

Can she apply for Indefinite leave to remain based on this?

Does anyone know of any Case Laws of such a similar situation? If so, please any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you attach a scan of the endorsement?

Unfortunately don't have a copy of the visa at the moment.

But the visa was an old style INK STAMP, which they used to stamp inside the passport in those days, that said she had been granted further leave to remain. And where the stamp said EXPIRY DATE/UNTIL............. The space was left blank and the case worker just signed their name at the bottom and they did not put in the expiry date.

Furthermore the accompanying letter that came with the further leave to remain visa did not have an expiry date on it.

What did she apply for?
Why has she waited so long?
Is she still at the same address?
