Residence Permit close to expiring- What to do next?

Post by cindymorales » Fri Nov 06, 2015 6:19 pm

Hello

I would greatly appreciate it if someone helped me.

I came to the UK 2 years ago with a Fiancee visa and then converted into a residence permit for 2 years with work permitted. On the card it says that the type of permit is LEAVE TO REMAIN.
It expires in February and I don't want to wait too long to reapply for it.

I am not sure what to do next. Do I have to apply for an indefinite leave to remain? If so, How do i do so?
Links would be of great help.

Thank you in advance.

-Cindy

You sure it wasn't a 2.5 year visa?

You should be on the 5 year route to ILR I think

When did you apply for your fiancee visa and what date was your current visa issued?

Hello

It was issued on August 16 2013 and it expires February 16 2016. So you are right, it was a 2.5 year permit.

Thank you for your replies

In that case you'll need to apply for a further 2.5 year visa and then ILR after that. More too you'll need to also pay the NHS surcharge of £500.

Notice how I'm quicker than Casa. I'm Lewis Hamilton, she's Mr Bean.

In which case you need to apply for another 2.5 year extension on form FLR(M). You will need to meet the same conditions as in your first application for limited leave to remain. A minimum of £18,600 per annum income, but this can be joint earnings. 6 pieces of evidence in joint names showing you are living at the same address as your husband, spread as evenly in possible throughout the 2.5 year period from 3 different sources. If you have nothing in joint names you will need to submit 12 documents in single names.
You can apply no earlier than 28 days before the expiry date of your current visa. A postal fee is £649 + £500 for the NHS surcharge. If you apply in person at a PSC the application fee will be an additional £400.

Darn it Wanderer...Mrs Bean if you please  At least you got the NHS surcharge right this time!

Hello all,

As I have mentioned in my previous posts, I have to renew my residency. Now that you have answered my questions about the type of application I need to complete, could you please advise me when I should start my application process including the biometric appointment? I Plan on doing the Premium service. Should i book an appointment for both now or is it too soon?
My residency expires in February.

Many thanks

Cindy

PSC appointment slots are released onto the system 42 days in advance. You can submit your application 28 days before the expiry date of your visa if you choose. Biometrics will be taken on the day of your appointment.

Thank you very much Casa.

I only have bank statements as prove of address as my Father in law is the one who gets all the house bills. My husband has several documents under his name, but I'm afraid we will not have 12 different ones. Is this a major problem?
Also, I have just graduated and will be starting to work next week, so by the time I apply, I will have a few payment slips under my name and address. Will this count towards the annual income requirement even though it will not have been very long?

Thank you

Benefits of working from home, up at 9:00, brew, watch Jeremy Kyle to see if anyone from here is on, bit of work, put underpants on, pub lunch, rubbish after lunch, bit of work, couple of tins of Spesh, get on here to abuse some posters and regret it in the morning!
