Alternative to FLR(M) visa

Post by Cjhorm85 » Mon Nov 16, 2015 11:37 pm

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. My wife has been in the UK for over a year and a half now and will be applying for her FLR(M) visa in just under a year.

I'm wondering if there is an alternative to the FLR(M) visa because of the financial requirement. I met it easily before, but due to the slump in oil prices there is a chance I might be made redundant in the new year. To complicate matters, we are expecting our first child in February.

If the worst happens and I cannot meet the financial requirement is there any other way to keep her in the country? I'm trying not to worry, but the idea of losing my wife and child because of this recession in the oil industry is a horrible thought.... Surely this would be a breach of my human rights?

Any advice would be very helpful!
