Spouse Visa:Financial Requirement.

Post by kim256 » Wed Nov 18, 2015 11:36 am

Hi ALL,

Am new here and not sure of the rules and what not but pardon me if what am asking has already been answered.

I'd like some advice as per the financial requirement, I've been doing my head in with all the reading nearly lost my mind. My situation is as follows, I and my husband got married in march and we are planning on submitting our application this December. the major part of his income is from self-employment and we are getting the relevant documentation for that, but it won't be enough and we have to combine it with his non-salaried employment (he works for an agency) now the problem is I know to combine self-employment with another category everything has to be in the same financial year problem is for my husband's non-salaried employment there some months he spent without working as he had come to visit me: 4 months to be specific. will this affect our application or not?

Thank you all.

As long as he made £18,600 in the year gross pay, it doesn't matter if he took time off work. You just need to make sure the £18,600 gross is there and you may have to give 12 months payslips/bank statements to prove etc.

Income from self-employment is calculated using the nett figure after allowable business expenses have been deducted. i.e the amount on which HMRC calculate tax due. Self-assessment for the self-employment earnings will also need to be submitted.
