Hello
Need a little advice. I can't find exact details since our circumstances and application is circumstantial.
Myself and my soon to be wife will be getting married in December and intend to apply for a spouse visa. We are both over the age of 18
I in receipt of Carer's allowance and therefore must meet adequate maintenance. I also study part time.
I myself receive in total per month this;
£422 Student funds.
£62 Carer's allowance.
I'm exempt from Council tax, I have suitable accommodation for us both and the rent is £130 per week.
My girlfriend is currently on a Student visa with a 20hour work limit.
She works as a translator and the hours vary from 5 per week to 2 per week. However she would of only held this job for 2 months prior to the date we will make our application. Therefore can we use the income towards the adequate maintenance?
She owns property in China(Name on the deeds) and is in receipt of rent from the property and she has a written contract of the amount that is paid to her. The contract is in writing and it's not an official document but it specifies the amount paid each week. Is this acceptable as proof?
My girlfriend has savings of 5000 at most but over the months it varies(as she uses to buy) however she is financially supported from parents who regularly transfer her money to the account so it always stays topped up, it has on a few occasions ran down to under £100 before it was topped up again.
In addition to this she has a Chinese visa card in her name, from her home country. I can't find any information on this in the guidance if it can be used. It allows her to spend money that is officially owned by her parents but with limit of 2000 per month. Is this usable at all?
