birth certificate for VAF4

Post by mischa » Thu Nov 22, 2007 1:42 pm

Hi all,

On form VAF4, is it absolutely necessary for my proposed civil partner to include her original birth certificate? She is from Venezuela and didn't have her original. Her mother is getting a new one from the hospital. Does anybody know if that would be considered the original, or does it have to be government certified? Also, should she get it translated? Where and how would one go about that? Can it be a notarised translation, done in the US (where she's applying from, as a green card holder)?

Does anybody know?

Thanks!!

Mischa

She will be okay with the copy her mother is getting. A passport is really enough.
