I am a British citizen and have just moved back to the UK after living in the US for 5 years. My husband is an American citizen. We have been in a relationship for 7 years, lived together for 5 years and married in the US this summer. We submitted the online spouse visa application on the 7th of September, attended the Biometrics appointment and posted the application to Sheffield on the 14th of September. On the 19th of September we received confirmation that it had been received and on the 21st of September we received an E-mail stating that it was in the queue for processing. Since then (2months or 48 working days) we have heard nothing. This seems like a really long time for what should be a straightforward application (finances, housing and relationship all meet the criteria and we haven't been asked for any missing information). I'm starting to get really stressed as I really don't want to spend our first Christmas as a married couple living apart
and not knowing what is going on is killing me. I was just wondering if anybody else was in the same boat and whether the visa service just slower than normal at the moment or if there may be some specific issue with our application.Thank you very much for your time,
