OCI for Minor Applicant

Post by ocioci » Wed Dec 02, 2015 9:32 am

Hi

I have received OCI for my 4 month old baby.
I have got the passport style OCI booklet, however I cannot see any OCI related stamp / sticker on her passport.

Previously when I had applied OCI for myself (couple of years back), they had pasted a sticker on my passport as well in addition to the OCI booklet.

Not sure if this is an issue or not. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

After numerous attempts, I finally managed to speak to the High Commission of India in London, and they have confirmed that from Sep 2015 onwards, they do not issue sticker on passports. OCI booklet needs to be carried along with the foreign passport.

Posting it in case someone else might have the same doubt.

Cheers

Mentioned on the VFS website!
FAQ wrote:Is it mandatory to have a Life Long Visa Sticker (OCI) in the foreign Passport?

No, The life Long Visa Sticker process has been discontinued by Government of India. Applicants are required to carry Valid OCI Card with current foreign passport (endorsed on the OCI Booklet).
