Different Name on Passports

Post by petervang » Wed Jul 15, 2015 1:32 pm

Hi I am trying to find out from someone I have got my Visa In expired passport,in my renewed passport it has omitted my middle name this was done without my knowledge as the issuing authorities has a new system in place whereby long names cannot be fitted in their passport.

Would this be a problem when arriving at the airport in uk

Any experience with someone in similar position or advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem.

Name Changed on Current Passport

Post by petervang » Fri Oct 30, 2015 5:52 pm

Is there a specific Time within which when one should inform UKVI if the Name on foreign Passport has been changed as the Expired passport contains the ILR stamp (Name slightly differs, then whats on the current passport) What are the requirements / evidence needed when applying for transfering of ILR to current passport.

As Name change was due to result of issuing authorities, they could not fit the full name in the new passport due to their system which have character limitation, hence the middle name was dropped. They are again very uncoperative to confirm this in writing.

Please any advice suggestion will highly be appreciated.

Applying for NTL BRP

Post by petervang » Sat Dec 12, 2015 2:57 pm

HI Everybody, I am due to apply for ILR shortly by one day service, using NTL for Biometric Residence Permit .
I have already got ILR in my old Passport. I will very much appreciate if someone will advice me of what documents I will need to submit along with my application. My Solicitor says I DO NOT NEED to submit any other documents with the application except for all the old passports bearing ILE / ILR stamps and 2 photographs only, is this correct.

Secondly, My name on the current passport is slightly different to what is shown in my other old passports.
my middle name is missing on the said current passport and this was due to space limitation on the system of the passport issuing authorities. The first and last names are same. Would this matter in anyway. Again my solicitor says this is not a problem. I believe the HO applies very strict rules on different names.

(Given Name : as in old Passports : Micheal PXXXXXXXX )
(Surname : as in Old Passport : SXXXXXXXX )

(Given Name : as in current Passport : Micheal )
(Surname : as in current Passport : SXXXXXXXX )
__________________________________________________
Hence the middle Name missing in the current Passport

Will very much appreciate of any information from members on these issues.
Thanks in advance and regards
