Tier2 dependant to tier 2 main applicant as a nurse on short

Post by Enrevzenan » Wed Dec 30, 2015 1:54 am

Hi.
I am currently a tier 2 dependent but I am eyeing to switch to tier 2 general visa. I am working on my registration as a nurse. Currently, nurse is listed on shortage list of occupation:

1. Would it be alright if I would have my own tier 2 visa whilst my wife has her own tier 2???
2. Can I do an in-country switch as the occupation I am applying is on shortage list..???

I would greatly appreciate your inputs...

Oh dear.... The HR manager of the NHS Trust told me I can do an in-country application whilst nursing is on shortage occupation... Many thanks...

Wouldn't I be considered as an overseas qualified nurse and therefor is eligible to able an in-country application?

You have leave as a Tier 2 dependant. This category of leave does not appear in 245HD(b).

Note that if you change status, then any qualifying period that you may have accumulated for settlement as a dependant will be reset.
