Financial Requirement for Adult Dependant Son

Post by jssidhu » Sun Jan 03, 2016 6:09 pm

Hi there,

I'm applying for ILR for my adult dependant son (26yrs). I am a British Citizen and my wife (his mother) is settled in the UK, and e want our son to settle with us. I was wondering what the financial requirement would be 18,600 or 22,400? We are only applying for him, but his mother is also financially dependant on me but is not on the application.

Thanks

J Sidhu

Is your son in the UK? If so, what is his immigration status?

There is no category for an adult dependent child. Children routes are only available for minors under the age of 18.

If he is not in the UK currently, he will have to apply on his own steam, under the relevant study or work category.

Alternatively, you could consider the Surinder Singh route, where you entire family settles in another EEA country, move the centre of your life there and prove that your son is dependent on you and then apply nder the EEA Regulations.
