Hello, I've done some searching on this great forum and found a few possible answers but I wanted to double check my situation.
My wife and I are both British Citizens by decent and we normally live in the UK. We were both born in Australia and recently spent 18 months in Australia and had a child here who doesn't automatically get a Britsh passport (as we are British by decent and have been out of the country over 270 days before the birth). I understand that we can apply for a few different VISA's for our child but I'm confused as to which is best.
Also, we are planning on heading back home to the UK soon, can our child arrive the UK as a visitor (on an Australian passport) and apply within the UK for settlement? Or do we have to wait 6 months for a settlement VISA, etc.? Thank you very much. David
