Does Ireland recognize domestic residence card?

If some body help me with this


Do I need a visa while holding a Residence card for family member of Hungarian citizen in order to travel along with my wife to Ireland.

I wrote an email to embassy in Budapest, they say, you need to apply visa

You seem to have asked similar question for UK.

It's a similar answer, with patience & paperwork entry might be gained without a 'visa' (if accompanied by EEA spouse):

If its listed on their Timatic passport/visa database 'they shouid'.

You may have to be careful about domestic-issued cards as compared to Article 10 (/ 20) cards.
