Hello
I will be having a religious wedding ceremony in December 2016 in India. I am a British citizen and my wife to be is an Indian national. We have been together now for over 3 years.
I will be having a court marriage in New Delhi in October 2016 (a few months ahead of our religious ceremony and wedding party). The reason for this is so we can obtain a marriage certificate and apply for a spouse visa, as the wait can be up to three months to have an answer back from UKVI. We have booked a honeymoon to the Maldives from the uk at the end of Jan 2017,
I was reading the application form VAF4A Appendix 2 and question 1.19
1.19 Have you lived with your sponsor in a relationship akin to marriage or a civil partnership at any time (including since your wedding or civil partnership ceremony)? Put a cross (x) in the relevant box
If ‘Yes’ please give full details. If ‘No’ please give reasons why you have never lived together.
The answer for me will be “NO”. As me and my wife will not be allowed to have sex or live together until our religious marriage
My question is
To qualify for a spouse visa (as a married couple) do i have to be living with my wife or at least have been in an intimate relationship with her?
Can the entry clearance officer refuse my wife on this point?
We will state all the information above in our application and also submit documents relating to our religious ceremony and celebrations. We will not hide the fact that we have not been in an intimate relationship as we have not had our religious ceremony yet and as per our faith we can not be intimate until the religious ceremony
App replies are welcome, thank you
