Supporting Document for Residence Card

Good day,

I would like to know if I can use my Greek Identity Card instead of my Greek passport to send as supporting document for my wife's residence card application.

This is an example of what it looks like:

It is a valid travel document around Europe.

Reason I would rather not use my passport is that my job requires me to travel abroad weekly.

Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Yes you can , The Home Office does accept this as a form of ID !

Documents you must provide
For each person on the application you’ll need to provide:

a current passport
2 passport size colour photographs
one passport size colour photograph of your European Economic Area (EEA) national (or British citizen) sponsor
your EEA family member’s valid passport or national identity card
evidence of your relationship to your EEA family member - eg marriage certificate, civil partnership certificate, birth certificate, or proof that you’ve lived together for 2 years if you’re unmarried
