Sufficient Funds Minimum Required for EC

Hi,

I got my HSMP Approved today and i want to apply for EC...
However i don't have sufficient funds in my Savings account...

As per the new gudelines, we need 2400 pounds for Initial 3 months survival....
My questions is that 2400 pounds should be in liquid cash or it can be combination of Assests and Shares,PF and Mutual Funds???
Also is 2400 pounds is for a person who is staying in a Hotel and managing the expenses....
I have an Accomdation provided by my friend...
Will there be any relaxation on that???
