Couple of Questions - I'm newbie pls help

Post by h_s_m_p » Mon Dec 10, 2007 6:21 pm

Dear All,

After going through this forum I have gained confidence to submit the papers on my own. I have got the below documents ready.

1) Last 12 pay slip with office seal and signature from finance dept guy.
2) Last 12 months bank statement with seal
3) Original Degree certificate
4) Letter from university stating the medium of study [english]
5) Original Birth Certificate for age proof.
6) Form 16 (xerox copy)
7) Original IT Returns file copy.

Form 16 was for the period of April 2006 - March 2007. however my claim period is from Dec 2007 to November 2007. So from April 2007 to November 2007 I have to submit valid proof for the income. For that,

Questions:

Is that ok if i submit the salary slip along with bank statement.
My company has issued a letter covering my CTC details. Its a one page document. Can i use this as a proof.

Or

I have to get a letter from my employer stating the income details for the period of april 2007 to november 2007.

Question

Incase, If my application gets rejected. Can i try it next time through consultant. If yes, what should be the gap for re-filing the application again.

Based on your answers i have to decide whether i should go on my own or seek consultants help.

Regards

Hiya,

From your post, it looks like you are claiming points in the following categories:

1. Age:
Evidence in the form of:
a. Original Birth Certificate - you are providing this already
b. Also submit notarised copy of your Driving Licence or your passport. If you are submitting your passport, you need to sumbit all the copies of the passport (notarised).

2. Educational Qualifications:
Evidence in the form of:
a. Original Degree Certificate - you are providing this already
b. Just make sure your Certificate if equivalent to a British taught Bachelor's / Master's degree. If you are certain of this, then it is fine. Else it is best to obtain a NARIC certificate of equivalence before you apply. That way, you can avoid any surprises.

3. Previous Earnings:
Evidence in the form of:
a. Last 12 payslips signed and stamped - you are providing this already
b. Your SARAL or IT Return for the period Dec 06 to March 06.
c. Your Bank statements showing Credits to your account.

This evidence should be good enough. While it is advisable to also send an earnings statement from employer for the period April 2007 - Nov 2007, it is not mandatory as you are providing bank statements.

Please note: Just add up the Net Salary of your payslips and confirm that this is equal to the Credits into your Bank Account. There should be a perfect match.

Also, you need to request for exceptional consideration in the application as well as the covering letter because your IT returns do not cover the whole period.

The Form 16 you refer to must be for the IT return Apr 06 to Mar 07. This is not required as long as you are submitting the original IT Return.

The company issues CTC may be submitted, but it does not add value. Your CTC is only a letter of intent (for employment) and does not prove that you earned the amount during that year.

4. I gather you are not applying from within the UK. So you can't claim UK experience.

5. Knowledge of English:
Evidence in the form of:
a. Letter from the Univ. - you are providing this already. This is good enough.

In addition:
a. Don't even dream of submitting a photocopy. Your application will be rejected straightaway.
b. Make sure all your certificates are in English - else get them translated into English from a recognised official translation service.
c. You need a covering letter, the format of which you can find in some of the posts on this site. Else write back and anyone can mail it to you.

Overall, I think you are in fairly decent shape. Take care of the NARIC CoC and try to obtain an earnings certificate for April 2007 to Nov 2007 (optional), and you are good to go.

Cheers.
