Visa declined

To whom it may concern,

I recently applied for my visa as the custodial parent of my son who is a Germany citizen, I asked for my passport early as I needed to urgently travel a broad, I was told by immigration that my COA was enough to get back into the country, and as I landed I was stopped, and then it was revealed to me that my application has been administratively refused, but the boarder control did extend my visa based on my relationship to my son, so now the question is, is how I go about finding out the reason for the refusal, cause I have yet to received any official word to the nature of the refusal
