Tier 2 General Early Extension, Please Help

Hi everyone/Gurus

My current Tier 2 visa from Aug 2013 to Aug 2016. HR told me today they can issue me the new CoS for extension anytime i want, but they're not sure when to apply for the extension. As i will have a lot of business trip from May, so i'm thinking to extend my visa next Month.

1. Just wondering if it's okay to apply 5 month prior to the expire date of my current visa?

2. If my new CoS is 3 year, after my early extension, new visa should be expired in 2019 correct? It's 3+3 not 3+2 anymore? I just want to make sure early extension won't affect my 5 year ILR route.

you can apply any time you want, just make sure you have 3 years COS. You are safe because you are applying between 2 and half years so after your second extension you have 6 months extra to apply for ILR.
