Info on Biometric Visa prcoess from 12th

Post by ec_applicant » Thu Dec 13, 2007 2:52 am

Well i was one of those who applied on the 12th of December when they staretd the biometric process.

Some changes worth noticing are

1>Every applicant now onwards be it any category HSMP/Depemdent/Workpermit/Bussiness/Visitor has to go to the nearest VFS office to get his/her fingure pint scanned and digital photo scanned

2>From 12 December onwards VFS is strictly following the 45 X 35 mm photo speciication, if you get the .5X.5 it is not accepted alternatively they have a photographer who trims your phot using a pair of scissors to the requierd size

3>I dont know the exact reason but it was taking a lot of time on the 12th i enteerd the queue at 8:50 and came out at 2:10 and VFS didnt take a lunch break either in bangalore

The biometric process takes hardly 5 minutes so dont know why the delay , one of the reason might be that the VFS officeses opened after a gap of a week so lot of applicants

4>According to new finger print scan rules people having mehendi are not allowed to scan their fungures, newly wed couples please take care i saw 2 couple asked to leave.

5>The VFS office will remain closed from 21st to 26th Dec 2007 and the total processing time for december is 18 to 20 working days

6>I had taken copy of all pages of passport but they need the copy of the blank pages on your passport too so go prepared

Regards

EC Applicant

Biometric data collection is when you apply for the EC.
