This is actually quite a complicated area of law. So you arrived in the UK in 2001. Can I ask, at what stage did you apply for asylum? Was it as soon as you arrived in the UK? That is, you applied at the Port of Entry?

Or alternatively, did you come to the UK legally on a visa, and applied for asylum before that visa expired? Or after it expired?

Or did you arrive, for example, in the back of a lorry, and only applied for asylum some time after you got to the UK?

Please clarify which of those facts fits your circumstances.

As regards proving you were in the UK, do appreciate that it is a strict requirement that the applicant for Naturalisation (not married to or in civil partnership with a British Citizen) needs to show that they were in the UK exactly 5 years before BIA will receive the Naturalisation application. So turning the question back to you, what evidence can you produce to show that you were in the UK 5 years ago? Or I suspect that it might come down to this, what evidence can you produce to show that you have not left the UK since 2001 when you arrived in the UK? (If that is indeed the case!)

I applied for asylum right when i entered UK through Dover I didn’t have any visa .. that was my main Question for the forum is how to provide my proof to them that i been living in this country for over 5 years ,, as i told you in the beginning that one of my proofs was that i have received NASS from 2001 until 2003 I have called NASS several times and they tell me that they can't give me NASS 35 ,, but unfortunately I cant proof that I’ve received NASS for that period of time because they are not giving me any papers to proof,,, I only got my old document that I received from them , and how am i suppose to proof?? and how am i suppose to proof to them when i didn’t have permission to work , so now I can’t provide them with my employment papers or the place that I have worked over the years,,
Thanks for advice

Surely, when you arrived at Dover , they will have taken your fingerprints? Just tell them to compare those with a freshly taken set.
