surrender indian passport-cancelled or not?

Hello,

Applied and received my surrender certificate for Indian passport within a week. However my Indian passport was returned as it is- i.e. There is no 'cancelled' stamp on it and the corners has not been cut off either. Is this normal or did they forget to do mine? anyone has similar experience please?

It certainly is unusual. Did you get the surrender certificate with the passport?

Did you use postal service or did you hand it in over the counter? If over the counter, did you pointy out the anomaly to the VFS counter staff?

I received it in post. Received the old passport and the surrender certificate.
