Hi there,
I am in a rather desperate situation as I am currently here on a spousal visa and was in the process of making sure I had all the necessary evidence to submit my renewal when I realised I had made a huge oversight:
As myself and my wife ran our own company (an LLP) and did not make enough in 2014-2015 to satisfy the financial requirements as self-employed we restructured to become a Ltd company and became salaried employees, thinking we would qualify this way...
My oversight however comes in here: My wife is also the director of the Ltd. company and it is only in ticking the boxes for the evidence for salaries that I came across something I had stupidly not been aware of before: the fact that directors salaries are counted as self- employed, something that is evidenced by the last financial year. My visa expires on March 20th (hence the 'desperate' part) and so we fall mere days short of being able to reference the 2015-16 financial year and using the 2014-15 year (or indeed the average of two years) does not satisfy the requirements.
This realisation has made me physically sick, not to mention feeling like an incredible idiot for somehow overlooking this - is there anything I can do!?
Many thanks for your time and any advice you can give...
