Most income based benefits are affected if you leave Britain, even for a holiday. You are required to tell all the different benefits agencies that you claim from, even if your visit is only temporary.

For Pension Credit

"you should tell us if you go abroad for any reason at all. This includes if you go
to Northern Ireland, the Isle ofMan or the Channel Islands."

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... c-0915.pdf

If you are going back to your own country for 12 months, they may not count that as a temporary visit. If they do count it as a temporay visit, you are allowed 13 weeks abroad before your Pension Credit will end.

From April 2016 this is changing to just 4 weeks outside Britain before Pension Credit is ended.
"The same reduction from 13 weeks to four is being applied to housing benefit,"

Don't be tempted not to tell them. A 76 year old Irish woman on another site who has been living back home in RoI for extended periods, has just been caught and she used the Common Travel Area!

Which Country are you going to? Do you have any health problems?
