FLR (M) Question on Category for Spouse

Hi,

I have a PEO appointment tommorow and I am in a doubt on two of the questions in the FLR (M) form. Could someone please suggest?

Background:

My Wife came to UK on a Spouse Visa under the category 'Spouse of a Person present and settled in UK'. Her Visa is going to expire soon and I am applying for another extension of 2 and a half years.


Section 2 - Under which category are you applying for leave?

I ticked - 'Spouse of a Person present and settled in UK'


2.2 Is this the first time you have applied for a visa or extension of stay in one of the above categories (including previous leave granted as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner) with your current sponsor?

We've never filled in this form (FLR (M)), but obviously we did the Spouse (VAF4A or something). I believe we should be selecting "No" as we previously applied for the Spouse visa. Please correct me if I am wrong?


2.3 Please indicate what stage of extension of leave you are applying for or why you are choosing to extend your current leave in one of the above categories:

I'm fairly sure the right answer is "Second period of leave to remain (following initial grant of leave to remain)", but just making 100% sure. Please suggest?

Spouse of a person present and settled in uk is correct.

2.2 No as her current visa is Spouse

2.3 second period of leave is correct as this will add another 2.5 years towards her 5 year route.
