Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General with New Employer?

Hi All -

I'm on a Tier 2 ICT visa which is tied to my company which is due to expire this August (I'm nearing 5 years in the UK). I'm generally aware of my options (or lack there of) at this point however there is one thing which isn't entirely clear.

Does anyone know if I can move from a Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General with a different company (assuming they sponsor me)? I know within my company this is not an option unless I leave for the 12 month cooling off, but it's unclear if I can switch jobs/companies and secure one somewhat immediately.

Even if another company is ready to sponsor you, you will be subject to a 12 month cool-off before you can apply for another Tier 2 visa.
